Jamie Agnew, Tyler Blevins, Alec Cobb, Jack Dickerson, Reed Mangione, Hunter Weiland Named VaSID Academic All-State

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College placed six on the 2018-19 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Academic All-State Team.  The recognized Tigers include recent graduates from the Class of 2019: Jamie Agnew/Fairfax, Tyler Blevins/Draper, Alec Cobb/Jamestown, N.C., Jack Dickerson/Virginia Beach, Reed Mingione/Chesapeake and Hunter Weiland/Raleigh, N.C.

Agnew, a member of the golf team, earned a degree in Economics and Business with a 3.47 GPA.  He previously was named a 2019 Division III Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar.

Blevins, a member of the baseball team, earned a degree in Foreign Affairs with a 3.44 GPA.  He previously was named Second Team All-ODAC.

Cobb, a member of the football team, earned a degree in Economics and Business with a 3.33 GPA.  He previously was named a member of the 2019 National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame Hampshire Honor Society, as well as Second Team All-ODAC and Second Team VaSID College Division All-State.

Dickerson, a member of the swimming team, earned a degree in English with 3.30 GPA.

Mingione, a member of the cross country team, earned degrees in Chemistry and Physics with a 3.78 GPA.

Weiland, a member of the soccer team, earned a degree in Biology with a 3.26 GPA.

VaSID Academic All-State honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher and are sophomores or higher.  The complete list of 2019 VaSID Academic All-State (PDF) honorees is available via PDF.
