MINNEAPOLIS, MN-Three football Tigers earned All-American honors as named by d3football.com, which tabbed the Tigers number 18 in the nation in its final season poll. Junior wide receiver Holton Walker (Lynchburg, VA/Brookville) earned Second Team honors; senior linebacker Tyler Ikwild (Philomont, VA/Loudoun Valley) was named to the Third Team, and junior quarterback Nash Nance (Calhoun, GA/Tennessee) was named Honorable Mention.
Walker has already been named a First Team All-South Region, First Team Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) All-State, and a First Team All-ODAC receiver. In addition, he was named the Tight End/Receiver of the Year by the Touchdown Club of Richmond while being honored as a Lanier Award finalist, given to the top player in the state in Division II, III, and NAIA. With all teams finished competing this season, Walker is now officially the nation's leading wide receiver with 1,723 yards (143.6 per-game). He set school records for single-season receiving yards, receptions (111), and touchdowns (16); and set single-game marks for yards (268 vs. Maryville) and receptions (16 vs. Maryville).
Ikwild, the 2013 ODAC Defensive Player of the Year, has also earned First Team All-Region, First Team All-State, and First Team All-ODAC accolades after finishing third in the ODAC with 101 tackles. Ikwild also led the team with 13.0 tackles-for-loss while adding four pass breakups, 1.5 sacks, and one forced fumble.
Nance becomes an All-American after being named the d3football.com South Region Offensive Player of the Year. He is also a First Team All-Region, All-State, and All-ODAC performer. He led the ODAC in nearly every statistical category for quarterbacks while throwing for 3,504 yards, 27 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions. He also led the league in rushing touchdowns with 17 to go with 545 yards.
